Krishnagiri, April 12 (PTI) A 42-year-old transgender was found murdered near here today. The victim was identified as Menakshiammal, who is a native of Ukkadam in Coimbatore and residing in Mullai Nagar near Krishnagiri for the past few months, police said. Meankshiammal’s house was locked from outside for the past four days. Neighbours thought that Meenakshiammal had gone out of station, but following foul smell emanating from the locked house, police were informed. On breaking open the door, police found the highly decomposed body of the transgender. The body was naked and there were mark of burns on the chest besides the throat was slit, police said. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Meenakshiammal was seen last on Sunday by neighbours. Police suspect that a youth, who used to visit Meenakshiammal frequently, may be involved in the crime.
